On a mission to make the e-commerce delivery chain future-proof.

Rajiv, co-founder and CEO of Bringly, says:

“The story of Bringly starts in 2016. I was in America and saw that logistics were organized very differently there than in the Netherlands. The transparency and flexibility in the logistics chain was much greater there. We are used to the fact that logistics around e-commerce in the Netherlands is governed by a number of large parties. As a webshop owner, you are dependent on how they do it. Do they throw their hat in or do they go bankrupt? Then your company has a big problem.

The idea behind it was clear from the start: the logistics chain could and had to become more transparent, resulting in both sustainability and cost reduction.

With this idea in mind, I started building a local system together with co-founder and CTO Anton, based on very small details such as postal codes and local pick-up rounds. In doing so, we ensured local delivery, from local stores, to local customers. During this pilot, we saw that there was already a lot to be gained at a local level and we realised that the impact at (inter)national level would be even greater.

We started small and built the system from the smallest parameters. We take into account local city hubs of couriers, but also shops as pick-up locations and weights that fit in the local vehicles. But that is precisely what now ensures that we have the most extensive parameters and that our users experience enormous flexibility.

With Bringly, we show that things must and can be done differently. The transport chain must be open, transparent and more transparent. You must be in control, not someone else.”
